How Your Donations Are Used

A Reminder of how your generosity is used in the Parish & Archdiocese to support us & the Clergy.

The four TAP machines at each entrance go toward supporting your Parish.  The donations given in the green (1st collection) bag unless labelled in an envelope go towards the Cost of each Priest in a
parish in our Archdiocese (details below).
The donations given in the red (2nd collection) bag go toward supporting our Parish, paying for insurance, office staff wages, utilities, gardening, upkeep etc… this usually includes planned giving envelopes etc.

Parishioners who have set up a direct debit with the office are usually giving either to just our Parish
(2nd Coll) or to the Clergy (1st Coll).  Generally support is given to the Parish & a smaller amount to the Clergy.

Cost of each Priest in a parish in our Archdiocese – As a result of research completed with the Inner North parishes due to a re configuration, the following information is being offered to all parishes in the
Archdiocese. This research coincides with a serious downward trend across the Archdiocese for the First Collection (Presbytery Account that goes to the Central Presbytery Fund from which all our priests  are paid).

The Annual Financial Breakdown/Cost For Your Priest

$19,000 Stipend (wage)

$12,000 Housekeeping

$  2,500 Health Insurance ($2000-$3000)

$18,000 Sustentation based on $90K pa for the first collection (supports the Archbishop’s ministries)

$  4,500 CRF Levy based on $90K pa for the first collection

$  1,000 Sabbatical levy

$  9,600 Car

$ 18,000 Presbytery costs: Electricity Gas/ Utilities etc.

$  2,090 Superannuation

$86,690 TOTAL

We would appreciate you considering to support our clergy.  You can do this by giving to the 1st collection during mass or by contacting the office to set up
a direct debit via EFT or credit card.

Forms are also available on our website & hard copies are in the main entry of the church.  The Clergy support form has a heading of Central Presbytery Fund. http://www.mhoc.org.au/planned-giving/
Thank you.
