Parish Priest


Fr Emil Milat has been a priest of Canberra & Goulburn Archdiocese for 24 years currently Parish Priest of South Woden, Pearce from 12 January 2024.
As Assistant Priest he was appointed to the parishes of: St Peter and Paul’s Old Cathedral Goulburn, St Francis of Assisi Calwell, Holy Family Gowrie, Corpus Christi South Tuggeranong.
Then as Parish Priest to: Sacred Heart Moruya, West Wyalong Mission (including Lake Cargelligo, Weethalle & Ungarie parishes), Sts Brigid and Patrick Central Canberra and St Thomas More Campbell.

His career initially was as a lawyer for one year after degrees in Economics and Law from Australian National University until his call to the Priesthood.
Marian devotion and consecration her Immaculate Heart have been central to his priestly spirituality together with the Charismatic renewal, youth ministry and three World Youth Days.
He was Vocations Director for a 10 year stretch and was reappointed in 2023 to this ministry.
