Shepherd’s Corner from Fr Emil

Shepherd’s Corner 1/2 February 2025
This week the new year gets into full swing with the children going back to school. We heard sad news that the Religious Education Coordinator at our Sacred Heart Parish school will be leaving for another career.
There is a copy of the Principal’s (David Austin) announcement letter in the foyer. Katie Imbriano has been such a blessing in that role that links the school & parish so importantly, through Masses & Sacramental Programs. We wish her all the best, as we turn to asking the Lord in prayer to send us another labourer for the Harvest.  God’s blessing Fr Emil

This Wednesday I will be travelling to Homebush Seminary for the yearly opening Mass, to support our six seminarians – our biggest number for some years. We give thanks to God for this inspiring sign that the Holy Spirit is very much at work in our times.  God’s blessing Fr Emil

P.S. May God bless our Nation as we celebrate our National Day this Sunday.

It was great to get a few weeks leave and also come back to our special parish.
Thank you to all those who helped with extra tasks like with locking up the church, and thanks to our Office Manger Melanie.  It is her turn for leave this coming week.
Thanks also to Fr Leonse who formally leaves the presbytery on Monday to take up duties as Administrator in Wanniassa parish. We wish him all the best, he will be missed!  God’s blessings Fr Emil
p.s. two films I watched on my break I can recommend is Unsung Hero and The Way my Way.

It is has been good to get away for a few weeks leave at the Coast.
Before I left I wrote a prayer for the New Year which is a Jubilee year- copies are in church foyer.  The Holy Door is open & we have four pilgrimage places to gain the grace of the Jubilee, see the Catholic Voice or Archdiocese Website for more info. The prayer I wrote is a compilation from the scriptures & the Pope’s Bull of declaration starting the Jubilee year. I hope it explains a bit more about it as a once in a lifetime opportunity. God’s blessing Fr Emil
