The XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops has now concluded and the Final Document from the Synod is now available.

 

The Final Document of the Synod

The Final Document was approved by the Synod participants on Saturday 26 October and the Italian version of the document is now available here:

The English translation of the document is expected in the next few days and we will promulgate that when it is available.

Archbishop Costelloe elected to Ordinary Council of the Synod

Archbishop Timothy Costelloe, Archbishop of Perth and President of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, has been elected to serve on the Ordinary Council of the General Secretariat of the Synod, along with 11 others. The Council’s role will include the implementation of the current synodal process, as well as preparation for the next Synod. Archbishop Anthony Fisher, Archbishop of Sydney, who has been a member of the Council since 2018, will conclude his appointment at the conclusion of the Second Assembly.
